Depth
Here is another favorite. If I could only choose one pattern of light for portraits, it would be Rembrandt lighting. I just love the depth the shadows lend here. The only tricky part is finding a soft enough highlight/shadow ratio and an angle that allows enough catchlight into the darker side. This is exactly what I'm after.

mmmm, yep! It's my fav too, but do you think I can get my kids to sit for it? ha!
